Formally making a point. If someone approaches you with a concern or misunderstanding - let them say how they feel - even if you disagree. If you know who you are and you are confident in your behavior in Christ, you have nothing to feel guilty about. Just acknowledge the concern, take accountability for your part in it or lack thereof and move on. Being defensive communicates that you are not considering the other person's feeling. Even if you don't feel like you did it on purpose, remember - its not about you. When you care, it sounds like it, you act like it - you don't curse people out - that ain't right! Effective communication is an exchange of very selfless acts when done properly, I am learning that more and more. Quite honestly you listen for how to love a person better. Listen for God's voice to whisper His response in the midst of someone else 's concerns. Its kind of hard to hear God though when you are so busy defending yourself. It is well. God is still in control. Blessings, T
